Investigative journalism is at the heart of democracy. I remember the Watergate case unfolding when I was a teenager. Very dramatic! This incredible corruption would not have come to light without very brave, committed journalists. (I'm amused that Watergate seems so light weight compared to some more recent events!)
I like the internet, but being a baby boomer, I'm hooked on my newspaper. The SF Chronicle may go under, which seems impossible and crazy after all of these years.
